Aurora Playgrounds - Hamilton Park

Spring and summer is around the corner. Playgrounds are very popular in Aurora. Children love to play outside, and meet other children. My first playground review is finally here. It goes to the Hamilton Park located on the Pinnacle Trail in Aurora, Ontario. It can be seen of the St. John's Sideroad.

This park has typical exploration type platform with three different slides - long slide, spiral slide and double small slides. Children can climb up the stairs with railing located on the both ends, one shallow one and the second steeper one. It is geared towards children who can walk well by themselves. It also has tic tac toe panel with 3 by 3 rolling cylinders for children to arrange - just like a tic tac toe game. This structure also has one fitness unit with handles for older kids to climb.

The playground also has swings sets, one tire style one and the regular double swing set with one for toddler and the other bench style. It also has two horses on the springs, black one and yellow one.

Playground surface is all crashed small stones, gravel type. Remember to clean your children shoes later, otherwise they will bring it all home. Children shoes fill up with this stuff really fast.

Parents can watch their children play from two benches that are covered with pergola. A pergola is like gazebo, except has lattice of planks, that is the roof is not completely covered. Creates partial shade. The whole playground is surrounded by the grass field, and has nice trees around.

Adjacent to the playground is the full size basketball field with two baskets.

In addition, if parents want to take their children for a small nature walk. Right after the basketball field there is downhill passage to the soccer field. It has nice trail around the soccer field with a small creek and surrounded by many different trees. If you into a bird watching you can spot Chickadees, American Robins, Gold Finches, House Finches, Red Wing Black Bird, Great Blue Heron, Hawks and Turkey Vultures flying above. It is a full size soccer field where games occur during the summer on the regular basis.

If you for more adventures, never tried it yet, but there is a grass trail in line with hydro lines that lead to the golf course. The exit is into the subdivision on the Pinnacle Trail.

I am sure that I missed some things, however, it is now all up to you to visit Hamilton Park on the Pinnacle Trail and explore more.
