Aurora Playgrounds - Tom's Park

This park is located on the West side of the Young Street. Surrounded by lot of green space Tom's Park playground has two access points. One from the Lanewood Drive, and the second one from the Willow Farm Lane. The second access point is for those who would like to take a nice walk through the forest. It is about 10 minutes walk, and if you have children walking with you, expect a bit more time.

The playground has one good size exploration platform. The whole area is filled with beach sand. It has one purple dinosaur.
As far as I can tell the exploration platform is for older children or adults must assist otherwise. There are quite a few climbing units which also includes fake rock climb unit. There are three slides, one double medium sized side by side and one spiral one.
Off to the side, there are three swing sets: set of 2 bench type, set of 2 toddler type and one doughnut. Playground is surrounded by the concrete curb, and has few sitting benches.

The park itself has small plaque on the side of the playground which reads: Tom's Park Named in Honour of Thomas F. Swindle 1889-1983, Charter Member of the Aurora Recreation Commission and Founder of the First Children's Playground in Aurora, 1947.
As mentioned before, there are two access points to the park, one from Lanewood Drive and one from Willow Farm Lane. Be prepared to walk good distance if you accessing Tom's Park from Willow Farm Lane. There are no dedicated parking spots. Parking on the road is acceptable.

To conclude the day, here is my favorite quote:
'Our hopes are high. Our faith in the people is great. Our courage is strong. And our dreams for this beautiful country will never die.' ~ by Pierre Elliott Trudeau
